Claims Rome title after retirement
September 21, 2020
Halep won 6-0, 2-1 when Karolina Pliskova retired in the final of Rome on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Halep only needed 32 minutes of play as she benefited from an injured opponent to comfortably claim the 22nd title of her career and third of 2020. The No. 2-ranked Romanian hasn't lost since the resumption of the season, winning both in Prague and now in Rome. Halep will be one of the main favorites for the title at Roland Garros next week, a tournament she won in 2018.
