Retirement from Racing

CORE autosport owner/driver Bennett has announced his retirement from racing, effectively bringing the team's Nissan DPi program to a close at the end of this year, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Not only is Bennett ending his racing career, but his team CORE Autosport will effectively cease DPi operations after Motul Petit Le Mans in October. Bennett went on to say that he has no racing plans in the near future, but would be open to some part-time opportunities to get behind the wheel. The 54-year-old owner/driver has struggled this season in DPi competition with no victories and no podium finishes in eight starts. Only one year removed from finishing runner-up in the class in the 2018 campaign.

For its Prototype class debut, CORE autosport has recruited Romain Dumas and Loïc Duval to its driver lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The two Frenchmen will join Bennett and Colin Braun for the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener, IMSA.com reports.
