Johnson was suspended 180 days by the Florida Boxing Commission on Thursday pending a physician's clearance, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson suffered one of the most devastating losses of his pro career Wednesday, and to add insult to injury, he could be facing a mandatory six months on the sidelines. While the Florida commission does not disclose injury specifics, Johnson's leg was twisted in all sorts of directions before he ultimately tapped, so it's possible ligament damage to the lower leg is in play.

Taps out to Thiago Moises

Johnson lost to Thiago Moises via submission (heel hook) at 0:25 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Wednesday in Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
What a disaster. Entering on a two-fight losing streak and sporting a 2-5 record in his past seven fights, Johnson dominated the first round. He used his quick hands and constant pressure to keep Moises off balance. 25 seconds after the bell rang for Round 2, Johnson was tapping out. It was a fight "The Menace" had to have and he didn't get it. Johnson's career is one of the most baffling in MMA history. He has wins over Tony Ferguson, Dustin Poirier, and Edson Barboza on his resume, along with losses to Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, and Nate Diaz. Johnson has been fighting the best in the world for years but time and inconsistency seem to have finally caught up with the soon-to-be 34-year-old.
Aims to fight in Jacksonville

Johnson has verbally agreed to face Thiago Moises in a lightweight matchup May 13 in Jacksonville, Raphael Marinho of Combate reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson was originally scheduled to take on Khama Worthy on April 18 on the since-canceled UFC 249 card. UFC matchmakers will keep the long-time veteran in their immediate plans, however, this time giving him an opponent that is 1-2 in three attempts with the company. Johnson will enter this fight with height and reach advantages, and a far superior striking volume.
Moved to UFC 249

Johnson will now take on Khama Worthy in a lightweight matchup at UFC 249 on April 18.
ANALYSIS
Johnson was originally set to face Evan Dunham, but it appears that matchup has fallen through, as the event was likely to be moved entirely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Johnson desperately needs a win here against an opponent with just one UFC bout to his name, as he's come up short in five of his last seven bouts. Worthy, on the other hand, picked up a Performance of the Night bonus in his first and only fight with the company.
Draws Evan Dunham in Nebraska

Johnson (19-15-0) is scheduled to face Evan Dunham (18-8-1) in a lightweight fight at UFC Lincoln on April 25, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson will make the jump from the 145-pound ranks as he looks to put an end to a two-fight losing streak. He'll at least hold the edge in terms of recent experience in the matchup, as Dunham last fought in September 2018 and was previously believed to have retired from professional MMA.
Can't be happy with the judges

Johnson lost to Stevie Ray via majority decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
Johnson probably has a legitimate gripe with the judges after this decision loss. Yes, he handily lost the final round after Ray took him down, took his back and landed 28 significant ground strikes. However, Johnson likely did enough to win the first two rounds of the fight with his distance striking. Instead two of the three judges gave Ray 29-28 scorecards. Johnson has now dropped back-to-back fights and seven of his last 10.
