Draws Evan Dunham in Nebraska
January 27, 2020
Johnson (19-15-0) is scheduled to face Evan Dunham (18-8-1) in a lightweight fight at UFC Lincoln on April 25, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
Johnson will make the jump from the 145-pound ranks as he looks to put an end to a two-fight losing streak. He'll at least hold the edge in terms of recent experience in the matchup, as Dunham last fought in September 2018 and was previously believed to have retired from professional MMA.

Can't be happy with the judges
October 27, 2019
Johnson lost to Stevie Ray via majority decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
Johnson probably has a legitimate gripe with the judges after this decision loss. Yes, he handily lost the final round after Ray took him down, took his back and landed 28 significant ground strikes. However, Johnson likely did enough to win the first two rounds of the fight with his distance striking. Instead two of the three judges gave Ray 29-28 scorecards. Johnson has now dropped back-to-back fights and seven of his last 10.

Johnson has been booked to take on Stevie Ray at UFC Singapore on October 26, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
Johnson most recently fell to Josh Emmett via knockout at UFC on ESPN 2 back in March, which put an end to the American's two-fight winning streak. The UFC now head into Singapore with 19-14 record overall and is just 4-6 in his last 10 trips to the octagon. It'll serve as a big bounce-back situation for Johnson, who appeared to be just seconds away from beating Emmett before getting knocked out for only the second time in his long career.
Knocked out by Josh Emmett
March 30, 2019
Johnson lost to Josh Emmett via KO (punch) at 4:14 of Round 3 at UFC on ESPN 2 on Saturday in Philadelphia.
Johnson looked quite good in Rounds 1 and 2 before he started getting touched up in Round 3. "The Menace" is known for his aggressive striking style, but he actually did a decent job of slipping out of the way of Emmett's power shots for the vast majority of the fight. Of course, as soon as Emmett did connect, Johnson was out cold before he hit the canvas. He gets hit a ton, but Johnson has been knocked out just twice in his entire career. Johnson is going to be upset with himself as this is a fight he was apparently just seconds from winning.

Johnson will take on Josh Emmett in a featherweight matchup at UFC Philadelphia on March 30, PhillyVoice.com reports.
Johnson is a former lightweight that will have a distinct size advantage over Emmett -- four inches in height and three inches in reach, to be exact. He did miss weight for a short-notice fight against Artem Lobov in October, but that will be a less likely scenario with a full fight camp to prepare. With regards to the matchup, Johnson owns the advantage in striking volume and striking differential. While Emmett has the advantage in takedown average, most of that mark is due to registering eight takedowns in his second UFC fight against Scott Holtzman. Johnson holds an experience edge with 17 more professional fights, but Emmett has the better winning percentage, sporting a 4-2 record in the UFC.
Schools Artem Lobov in a striking battle at UFC Moncton
October 27, 2018
Johnson defeated Artem Lobov via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Johnson was clearly the better striker in this fight, and it showed. He took the fight on short notice and struggled to make weight. However, he was still able to control the fight with his striking. He continued used his jab to both the head and the body. In the third round, Johnson made sure he took home the decision by turning up the volume and landing multiple combinations. This was an impressive performance for Johnson, who is still trying to reinvent himself at featherweight.
