Big submission win in Boston
October 18, 2019
Rosa defeated Manny Bermudez via submission (Armbar) at 2:46 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night Friday in Boston.
Rosa picked up a portion of Bermudez's purse after the latter came in heavy on Thursday, then went out and earned his second submission win in the UFC a mere 24 hours later. Not a bad night at the office for 33-year-old, especially considering he'll take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus as well. All Rosa cares about is the victory, but there were some hairy moments early on. Rosa was getting dominated in the early portion of the fight and it took a mistake from Bermudez to open the door for Rosa to clamp on the armbar that ended the bout. Regardless, a win is a win and Rosa needed one in the worst way. Rosa lacks power and is limited athletically, but he's a legitimate threat on the mat and Bermudez should have known better. Rosa is now six fights deep into his UFC career and he has alternated wins and losses in each and every one.

Struggles in loss to Shane Burgos at UFC 210
April 8, 2017
Rosa lost to Shane Burgos via TKO (punches) at 1:59 of Round 3 at UFC 210 on Saturday in Buffalo.
As FOX Sports analyst Joe Rogan correctly said on the broadcast, Rosa's inability to seriously threaten Burgos on the feet effectively made it impossible for him to win this fight. Despite actually winning the total strike battle by a count of 105-104, Rosa didn't land any particularly vicious strikes until right before the finish. Even then, Burgos ate it without incident and proceeded to return fire. Rosa also failed on all five of his takedown attempts. Rosa has now alternated wins and loses in his first five UFC contests.
