No-shows UFC 249 loss
FeatherweightUFC
May 9, 2020
Rosa lost to Bryce Mitchell via unanimous decision (25-30, 25-30, 24-30) at UFC 249 on Saturday in Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Rosa deserves credit for seeing the final bell. He was dominated throughout the course of the 15-minute bout but managed to dig deep and fight off countless submission attempts from Mitchell. Offensively, Rosa accomplished nothing. He was CREDITED with seven total strike attempts in the fight. On the bright side, six of them landed. In all seriousness, Rosa is known as a tough and durable fighter and that was on full display on Saturday. He was simply hopelessly outclassed against a much better opponent. Rosa has now alternated wins and losses in his first seven fights with the company.

Confirms he's facing Mitchell
FeatherweightUFC
April 23, 2020
Rosa's scheduled featherweight matchup against Bryce Mitchell has been moved to UFC 249 on May 9, he confirmed to Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell announced via his personal Instagram on Wednesday that he had signed a bout agreement to face Rosa on May 9, and Rosa confirmed the bout shortly thereafter. Rosa currently trains at American Top Team in Florida, the state rumored to host UFC 249 (which has yet to be officially confirmed by the promotion). His gym remains open with limited access to sparring partners during the pandemic, but Rosa is still living with siblings he can train with, and he accesses the gym whenever he can. As of Thursday morning, Rosa is approximately a (+165) betting underdog for the matchup. Also of note is the fact this bout is currently scheduled to kick off the entire card.

Rosa will square off against Bryce Mitchell at UFC Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Rosa is coming off an impressive submission victory over Manny Bermudez in the first round of his last bout during mid-October. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to follow up a victory with another through six bouts in his UFC career. He will aim to change that in OKC but will be giving up an inch in both height and reach to Mitchell.
Big submission win in Boston
FeatherweightUFC
October 18, 2019
Rosa defeated Manny Bermudez via submission (Armbar) at 2:46 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night Friday in Boston.
ANALYSIS
Rosa picked up a portion of Bermudez's purse after the latter came in heavy on Thursday, then went out and earned his second submission win in the UFC a mere 24 hours later. Not a bad night at the office for 33-year-old, especially considering he'll take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus as well. All Rosa cares about is the victory, but there were some hairy moments early on. Rosa was getting dominated in the early portion of the fight and it took a mistake from Bermudez to open the door for Rosa to clamp on the armbar that ended the bout. Regardless, a win is a win and Rosa needed one in the worst way. Rosa lacks power and is limited athletically, but he's a legitimate threat on the mat and Bermudez should have known better. Rosa is now six fights deep into his UFC career and he has alternated wins and losses in each and every one.
Will fight heavy opponent
FeatherweightUFC
October 17, 2019
Rosa will still fight Manny Bermudez at UFC Boston on Friday after Bermudez weighed in at 148 pounds, which is two pounds over the featherweight limit, John Morgan of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bermudez has had issues making weight in the past, and once again struggled by coming in at two pounds over the featherweight limit. Rosa, who is making his return to the octagon after suffering a serious neck injury, agreed to fight a heavy opponent. Bermudez is 14-1 in his professional career, but coming off his first loss at UFC 241.
Gets first fight since 2017
FeatherweightUFC
September 13, 2019
Rosa will take on Manny Bermudez in a featherweight bout at UFC on ESPN 6 in Boston on Oct. 18, Farah Hannoun of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
It's been nearly two and a half years since Rosa stepped foot in the octagon after he suffered a serious neck injury. Now, just over a year removed from announcing he is nearly back to 100 percent, Rosa will make his return to UFC action in October. He'll certainly have his hands full come then, as Bermudez is 14-1 in his professional career but is coming off his first loss at UFC 241.
