Motta will fight Damir Hadzovic at the UFC's May 8 event, MMADNA.nlreports.
ANALYSIS
Motta will make his UFC debut in this battle, as the lightweight was awarded an official UFC contract after defeating Joseph Lowry via unanimous decision on Nov. 10, 2020. On the other hand, Hadzovic will be entering the fight having most recently lost to Renato Moicano via submission at UFC Fight Night in Brazil on March 14, 2020.

Motta defeated Joseph Lowry via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the event, he was one of three fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
After the show, White wavered a bit on whether or not to give Motta the contract, as he was a bit concerned about the Brazilian's inability to finish his opponent when he had him on the ropes near the end of Round 2. Lowry does deserve a ton of credit for his toughness, however, as he clearly had a broken nose along with a massive cut, but his chin held up through countless Motta combinations. White did note that if he was giving away a Fight of the Night bonus, it would have gone to these two men. It's also worth taking into account the fact that Motta took this fight with only 20 days' notice. Motta is a former contender on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, and while that didn't go his way, he's now riding a three-fight win streak into an eventual UFC debut.
