Ryan Finley
Ryan Finley
26-Year-Old QuarterbackQB
Cincinnati Bengals
2020 Fantasy Outlook
Finley got the starting nod for three games in 2019 in an attempt to see if the Bengals had much to work with in the post-Andy Dalton era, or if instead they'd have to allocate a significant draft asset to secure their future quarterback. Alas for Finley, Door No. 2 was the correct answer. In his three games, Finley completed 41 of 87 passes for 474 yards, good for 5.4 yards per attempt. Not too much was expected when they took Finley in the fourth round as a 24-year old rookie, and "not too much" was what they received. Finley will serve as Joe Burrow's primary backup in 2020, and the Bengals sincerely hope they won't have to break glass in the case of emergency to use Finley. Read Past Outlooks

Quiet end to season
QBCincinnati Bengals
January 4, 2021
Finley, who didn't play in Sunday's loss to the Ravens, finished his 2020 season completing 17 of 32 passes for 164 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also ran 11 times for 66 yards and one touchdown over five games.
ANALYSIS
Finley was inconsistent when pressed into duty during what was his second NFL season. After starter Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending knee injury Week 11, Finley and Brandon Allen were the last men standing at the position. While it subsequently became clear that Allen was the productive of the two, Finley did lead an upset of the Steelers in a Week 15 spot start. Finley is signed throughout the 2022 season, while Allen is entering the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Finley was the only quarterback that the Bengals brought in for pre-draft workouts, so it's not a surprise that they selected him with the second pick of the fourth round. But he isn't an obvious heir apparent for Andy Dalton, who has two years remaining on his deal with the Bengals. Jeff Driskel remains on the team and could even be the primary backup over Finley to begin the season. Finley threw for 3,928 yards in his senior season at North Carolina State, averaging 8.1 yards per attempt. His arm strength is considered average and he doesn't offer much mobility.
