Anthony McFarland
Running BackRB
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Despite McFarland’s efficiency on the ground throughout the 2018 season, it wasn’t until late in the season that he was truly used as a lead back. In the two weeks he went over 20 carries, McFarland produced a combined 508 yards and two touchdowns on 50 attempts (Indiana and Ohio State). Ty Johnson’s graduation should clear McFarland’s path to a workhorse role in 2019, though his struggles in the red zone last season (seven yards on nine carries) could lead to vultured touchdowns around the goal line. Headed to NFL
December 3, 2019
McFarland will forgo his final two years of collegiate eligibility at Maryland and enter the 2020 NFL Draft, Emily Giambalvo of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
McFarland had an up-and-down year for the Terrapins, ultimately finishing with 614 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns. Though he saw his statistics take a downturn from his strong redshirt freshman campaign, the running back feels that now is the best time to leave an unstable Maryland program and test the NFL waters.
