Brown appeared in 61 games for the Wizards during the 2019-20 season. He set new per-game career highs in points (9.7), rebounds (5.3), assists (2.3), steals (1.2) and threes (0.8). He also set new career highs in field-goal percentage (45.3), three-point percentage (34.5) and free-throw percentage (75.4). Brown set new single-game career highs of 26 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, five steals and three triples. His 26-point effort on Dec. 23 against the Knicks was arguably his best all-around performance of the season. Brown shot 9-of-15 from the field, 2-of-4 from three and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe while providing nine rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block with zero turnovers. Brown racked up four double-doubles, all with points and rebounds. In addition to his four games with 10-plus rebounds, Brown had four performances with 20-plus points and seven efforts with five-plus assists. He also had eight performances with at least three steals and six efforts with at least one block. In the 12 contests that Brown saw at least 35 minutes, he averaged 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.3 steals.2018
Brown was selected with the 15th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. He played 52 games with the Wizards in his rookie campaign. Brown logged 14 minutes per contest and posted per-game averages of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He shot 41.5 percent from the field -- including 31.9 percent from three-point range -- and 68.1 percent from the free-throw line. The 6-foot-7 forward scored double-digit points six times during the campaign, all during March and April. He started the final 10 games of the season and produced 10.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest in that span. Brown fell one point shy of his first career double-double against Chicago on March 20, scoring nine points and grabbing 10 boards. He tallied a season-high 24 points in a win over Denver on March 31, knocking down 9-of-16 shots including 5-of-7 attempts from deep. The former Oregon Duck came on strong in April, averaging 31 minutes in four contests and posting per-game averages of 9.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Brown also played in 11 contests with the Capital City Go-Go of the G League, averaging 16.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 49.0 percent from the field.
