2018

Caruso appeared in 25 games for the Lakers in 2018-19. The second-year guard out of Texas A&M spent the majority of his season in the G League, as he did his rookie campaign. He got his first call up from South Bay in December but bounced between the NBA and G League for the next few months before earning an expanded role with the Lakers in March. Caruso averaged 9.2 points, 3.1 assists and 2.7 rebounds in his second NBA season. He played 21.2 minutes per contest, primarily in a bench role. The stats and playing time easily exceeded his rookie numbers, and Caruso displayed his upside with some impressive moments. His best game of the season came April 5 when he tallied 32 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals while draining five three-pointers in a win over the Clippers. In limited action, Caruso produced three double-doubles. His potential was evident in his four starts with the Lakers, during which the guard averaged 17.8 points, 8.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds while logging nearly 40 minutes per contest. Caruso was also particularly effective in road games, averaging 12.2 points and 1.7 steals while shooting 50.0 percent from the field in 11 contests.

2017

Caruso was not selected in the 2016 NBA Draft. However, he latched on with the Philadelphia 76ers and played in five Summer League contests in 2016. The Oklahoma City Thunder later signed Caruso in September of the same year, but he was subsequently waived and did not appear in the NBA during the 2016-17 campaign. After a few productive games with the Lakers in the Summer League in 2017, Los Angeles signed Caruso to a two-way contract. The six-foot-five guard made his NBA debut against against the Clippers on Oct. 19, 2017. In that contest, he scored two points and handed out two assists in 12 minutes. Caruso capped his campaign with another performance against the Clippers, this time tallying season highs with 15 points, seven rebounds and three three-pointers. Overall, Caruso played 37 games with the Lakers, posting per-game averages of 3.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He also spent a significant portion of the season in the G League with the South Bay Lakers. In 25 games with South Bay, Caruso averaged 19.0 points, 7.7 assists and 2.0 steals while shooting 38.7 percent from deep.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Caruso is an explosive guard from Texas A&M University who has made a name for himself in the G League, averaging 19.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game with the South Bay Lakers in 2017-18. He played well enough to earn some time at the NBA level with the Lakers, starting seven games out of the 37 he was on the roster while chipping in with 3.7 points per game. Caruso's game high was 15 points against the Clippers. Caruso will not receive many minutes this season with the addition of Rajon Rondo to go along with the two young guards already in place, Josh Hart and Lonzo Ball. However, Caruso is still young at 25 and can still gain a bench spot at some point but will have to prove himself once again in the G League.
