Recovering from hip surgery

March 3, 2021
Lambert is still in the recovery process from offseason hip surgery and his status hasn't been confirmed for Friday's preseason match against Collingwood or for the beginning of the regular season, according to Callum Twomey of the AFL's official website.
Lambert has a better shot of playing in the season opener Mar. 18 but there's more to figure out before he's given the all-clear. He only topped 20 disposals in three of his 20 appearances last season.

Lambert scored two goals and logged one behind to go with 13 disposals (eight kicks, five handballs) and six tackles in Friday's 46-40 win over Port Adelaide.
Lambert played a key role with his goals during a tough contest to advance to the Grand Final. He'll need to work hard to be worth selection, as he's seldom productive enough with the footy to regularly put up big numbers.

Lambert scored one goal and collected 18 disposals (10 kicks, eight handballs) to go with six marks made and five tackles completed during Saturday's 77-33 win over Adelaide.
Lambert has seldom been a consistent player this season though he's looked better with at least 18 disposals, four tackles and five marks in three of the last four Rounds. As a result, Lambert could provide a solid option for production in the finals.

Lambert (hip) will return to the lineup for Friday's match versus the Cats, Tate Spiteri of the Tigers' official site reports.
Lambert has missed a pair of weeks while dealing with a hip injury but is set to rejoin the fold in the Tigers' midfield. He will slot in as a half forward for the contest alongside Jake Aarts and Tom Lynch.

Lambert will miss Wednesday's match versus Fremantle due to a hip issue, Tate Spiteri of the Tigers' official site reports.
Lambert's issue has been deemed minor, so there's a good chance his absence will be a relatively short one. His return will be an important one for the Tigers' midfield, though his production slowed against West Coast in the team's last tilt.
