Dane Rampe
Good for Community Series game
DSydney Swans
March 6, 2021
Rampe (hand) is listed in the lineup for Sunday's Community Series clash with GWS.
ANALYSIS
Rampe's 2020 campaign ended prematurely due to a hand injury, but he appears to be in the clear as 2021 approaches. The defender averaged 14.6 disposals, 3.8 marks and 1.4 tackles when healthy last season.
Sam Naismith
Not ready to return
RSydney Swans
Knee - ACL
March 4, 2021
Naismith (torn ACL) is increasing his workload but needs more time before he returns to a competitive match, according to Michael Whiting of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
It's not exactly clear when Naismith will be back but at least his progression has stayed on schedule. He only made two appearances in 2020 and will hope to stay fit for longer upon his return.
Lance Franklin
May return for Round 1
FSydney Swans
Calf
March 4, 2021
Franklin is nearing a return to training from a calf injury and will hope to return by Round 1, according to Michael Whiting of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Franklin had a setback in his recovery and there still aren't assurances that he'll be available against Brisbane. He missed much of last season with various injuries and will hope that he can keep away from this muscular issues when the regular season gets under way.
Callum Mills
Strong performance in loss
DSydney Swans
September 21, 2020
Mills totaled 20 disposals (12 kicks, eight handballs), five tackles and four marks in Sunday's 69-63 loss to Geelong.
ANALYSIS
Mills finished the season strongly, capping off what has been his best season to date. He ends the season as one of the more consistent defenders in the league in terms of disposals. His ability to read the ball off the boot resulted in him being ranked inside the top-10 in both total intercepts and intercepts per game.
Jackson Thurlow
Disappointing end to season
DSydney Swans
September 21, 2020
Thurlow finished with just 11 disposals (seven kicks, four handballs), three marks and one tackle in Sunday's 69-63 loss to the Cats.
ANALYSIS
Thurlow one of his poorer performances of the season, bringing to an end what was a disappointing season for the Swans. Thurlow played in only eight games due to a calf injury early in the season, and he never really scaled any great heights. The Swans are a club that thrives on success and so there could be a number of personnel changes coming up during the course of the offseason.
Jordan Dawson
Back for finale
FSydney Swans
September 19, 2020
Dawson (concussion) will rejoin the lineup for Sunday's season finale versus Geelong.
ANALYSIS
Dawson was removed from the 22 last week due to a concussion, but he's apparently passed the necessary tests and will be back in action for the Swans as they close out their 2020 campaign. Dawson will serve as an interchange against the Cats.
Jake Lloyd
Logs 26 disposals in loss
DSydney Swans
September 13, 2020
Lloyd logged 26 disposals (20 kicks, six handballs) and made four marks during Sunday's 73-41 loss to Brisbane.
ANALYSIS
Lloyd is justifiably one to watch each week and he had another strong day against the Lions. Despite the collective struggles of his team, Lloyd has logged no fewer than 22 disposals in every match since Round 2 and should have no problems doing the same in the final game of the season against Geelong.
Luke Parker
Kicks two majors in loss
MSydney Swans
September 13, 2020
Parker scored two majors and logged 33 disposals (13 kicks, 20 handballs) to go with five clearances in Sunday's 73-41 loss to Brisbane.
ANALYSIS
Parker has alternated between stunning and stunned each week as some inconsistencies have come out towards the later stages of the season. While the final Round of the season falls on the wrong side of Parker's form, he still was a huge presence against a top-two Brisbane club and is capable of making a similar impact against Geelong.
Josh P. Kennedy
Has big game in loss
MSydney Swans
September 13, 2020
Kennedy collected 26 disposals (13 kicks, 13 handballs) in addition to making five marks, completing eight clearances and logging 10 tackles during Sunday's 73-41 loss to Brisbane.
ANALYSIS
Kennedy stepped up to have arguably his best fantasy performance of the season and the final scoreline isn't indicative of how close the contest as up until the fourth quarter. He'll have another tough test to finish the season against Geelong, and Kennedy has collected at least 24 disposals in three of his last four matches.
Lewis Taylor
Suffers foot injury in loss
MSydney Swans
Foot
September 13, 2020
Taylor suffered a foot injury and missed the second half of Sunday's 73-41 loss to Brisbane.
ANALYSIS
Taylor had previously kicked majors in two straight matches but didn't even get a touch of the footy before having to leave the match. Otherwise, Taylor's production is more indicative of a low-value player, so his absence shouldn't cause a big impact to the Swans.
Callum Mills
Returning Sunday
DSydney Swans
September 12, 2020
Mills (calf) is back in the starting lineup for Sunday's match against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Mills was a late withdrawal from the Round 15 match against the Demons and was also forced to miss the following round against the Blues due to a nagging calf injury but has recovered and will look to finish strong over the final two contests of the regular season.
Jordan Dawson
Out with a concussion
FSydney Swans
Concussion
September 12, 2020
Dawson was removed from the starting lineup Sunday due to a concussion.
ANALYSIS
Dawson had a solid performance Tuesday against the Blues with 15 disposals and 10 kicks to go along with five handballs and four marks but apparently suffered a concussion along the way, leading to him being unavailable for Sunday's Round 17 match. The Swans are scheduled to face the Cats in the regular-season finale next Sunday which gives Dawson one week to recover in time to take the pitch.
Hayden McLean
Out Sunday
RSydney Swans
Calf
September 12, 2020
McLean will not be available Sunday against the Lions as he is tending to a calf injury.
ANALYSIS
There's no official report as to when McLean suffered the injury although it can be assumed he hurt himself in last round's matchup against the Blues. McLean has only played in six matches this season and had a disappointing effort his last time out, registering a goal, two disposals and two marks. It's unclear if he'll be able to go for next Sunday's regular-season finale against the Cats.
Aliir Aliir
Makes career-high seven tackles in loss
DSydney Swans
September 9, 2020
Aliir compiled four disposals (two kicks, two handballs) and seven tackles in Tuesday's 57-52 loss to Carlton.
ANALYSIS
It was a night of contrasts for Aliir who made a career-high seven tackles but managed just four disposals for the entire night. The Swans have now lost four of their past five games and seven of their past nine. In what is clearly a rebuilding phase for the proud club, thoughts are already focused on next season, and where Aliir fits in those plans is unclear at this point.
Oliver Florent
Lands two majors in loss
FSydney Swans
September 9, 2020
Florent had 15 disposals (12 kicks, three handballs), four marks four tackles and two goals in Tuesday's 57-52 loss to the Blues.
ANALYSIS
Florent booted two goals in the loss, doubling his season output thus far. It was Florent's most productive game since late July and certainly makes up for his recent performances. The Swans let this one slip, giving up a 39 point lead in a match that really summed up their season to this point.
Justin Mcinerney
Noticeable improvement in victory
MSydney Swans
September 3, 2020
McInerney amassed 14 disposals (seven kicks, seven handballs), five marks, two goals and one tackle in Thursday's 67-46 victory over Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
Playing in just the seventh game of his career, McInerney split the middle for the first time, kicking two goals in the Swans upset victory. It was his best game as a professional and given what we have seen thus far, he looks as though he could be a key part of the Swans midfield as they enter a rebuilding phase.
Robbie Fox
Tops tackle count in victory
FSydney Swans
September 3, 2020
Fox had just three disposals but added a team-high eight tackles in Thursday's 67-46 victory over the Demons.
ANALYSIS
Fox salvaged an otherwise disappointing performance by racking up a career-high eight tackles as the Swans put a huge dent in the Demons finals hopes. The three disposals actually marked a season-low for Fox who typically fails to produce fantasy worthy numbers.
Luke Parker
Does a bit of everything Thursday
MSydney Swans
September 3, 2020
Parker finished with 24 disposals (12 kicks, 12 handballs), five tackles, three marks, two goals and one behind in Thursday's 67-46 victory over the Demons.
ANALYSIS
Parker bounced back after a couple of sub-par performances, helping the Swans to just their second win from the last six games. He has been one of the Swans best this season and currently ranks fourth in the league when it comes to total tackles and total center clearances. He is typically a ball-getter and given his position as a top-20 fantasy producer, he is worth a look in almost every format.
Callum Mills
Late withdrawal Thursday
DSydney Swans
Calf
September 2, 2020
Mills has withdrawn late from Thursday's match versus Melbourne due to minor calf strain.
ANALYSIS
The staff has elected to not take any chances with the defender, resulting in his removal from the lineup Thursday. Hayden McLean will take his place among the 22.
Ryan Clarke
Decent production in loss Saturday
MSydney Swans
August 29, 2020
Clarke tallied 20 disposals (nine kicks, 11 handballs), five marks and three tackles in Saturday's 73-47 loss to the Power.
ANALYSIS
Playing in just his sixth game of the season, Clarke topped the 20 disposal mark for just the third time. He added a season-high seven inside-50s to round out a solid performance.
Sam Reid
Bags a double in loss
FSydney Swans
August 29, 2020
Reid had seven disposals (three kicks, four handballs), four marks, two goals and one tackle in Saturday's 73-47 loss to Port Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Having kicked only one goal all season prior to Saturday's loss, Reid managed a pair of majors in the 26 point loss. He has now played in six of the past seven games for the Swans and is beginning to look better with each performance. With that being said, his statistical production is not typically strong enough to warrant a roster spot in most instances.
Harry Cunningham
Makes six marks in loss
FSydney Swans
August 22, 2020
Cunningham made six marks and collected 21 disposals (11 kicks, 10 handballs) during Saturday's 50-19 loss to Freemantle.
ANALYSIS
Cunningham tied his season high in disposals and set a new season high in marks during an extremely low-scoring loss. With the Swans in desperate need of goals, it remains to be seen who could step up to fill the void, though Cunningham has yet to score anything this season.
Jordan Dawson
Decent in loss
FSydney Swans
August 22, 2020
Dawson scored one behind while collecting 19 disposals (11 kicks, eight handballs) and making six marks during Saturday's 50-19 loss to Freemantle.
ANALYSIS
Dawson has scored majors in only two matches this season but still provides a decent rate of possession. This helps to make up for his lack of goals for fantasy but still doesn't change the fact that the Swans need better production from their forwards.
Jake Lloyd
Logs 28 disposals in loss
DSydney Swans
August 22, 2020
Lloyd collected 28 disposals (21 kicks, seven handballs) and made seven marks during Saturday's 50-19 loss to Freemantle.
ANALYSIS
Lloyd had another good performance but couldn't do much with his team struggling to score lately. Over the rest of the season, Lloyd will have to face some of the best clubs in the premiership, and the increased pressure from more skilled opponents could keep him busier.
Josh P. Kennedy
Will face Dockers
MSydney Swans
August 21, 2020
Kennedy (knee) will rejoin the action Saturday against Fremantle.
ANALYSIS
Kennedy has been sidelined since mid-July with a strained MCL, but is ready to rejoin the Swans' ranks. He will take the place of Dane Rampe (hand) in the 22 on Saturday and is listed at centre.
