Sam Powell-Pepper
Unlikely for Round 1
MPort Adelaide Power
Hand
March 4, 2021
Powell-Pepper is considered "unlikely" for the Round 1 match against North Melbourne due surgery on a broken bone in his hand, according to Nathan Schmook of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Powell-Pepper scored six majors and logged 77 tackles last season, which aren't bad numbers but seldom yield high-end value. There should be more news on when he could return when Round 1 nears, though for now he'll miss the Community Series match against Adelaide on Saturday.
Connor Rozee
Scores twice in elimination
MPort Adelaide Power
October 17, 2020
Rozee scored two goals to go with 14 disposals (nine kicks, five handballs) in addition to making four marks and logging five talkies during Friday's 46-40 loss to Richmond.
ANALYSIS
Rozee was seldom a consistent weapon as his stats reflected that of a scoring forward than a man in the midfield. However, he was still one of the more productive players for the Power as they were eliminated from the finals. He'll go into next season hoping to make more of an impact.
Ollie Wines
Logs 24 disposals in loss
MPort Adelaide Power
October 17, 2020
Wines logged 24 disposals (16 kicks, eight handballs) and made three marks during Friday's 46-40 loss to Richmond.
ANALYSIS
Wines ends the season as one of the more reliable players for the Power, who lead the league all season before coming up short in the Preliminary Final. He logged 20 or more disposals in eight of the last nine Rounds of the season.
Brad Ebert
Suffers concussion in final match
MPort Adelaide Power
October 17, 2020
Ebert suffered a concussion during Friday's 46-40 loss to Richmond in what was likely the final match of his career.
ANALYSIS
Ebert wasn't able to go out as a champion but still played hard until his final moments. After spending the last nine years back with the Power, Ebert is expected to call time on a career that saw him play 260 times and score 140 goals.
Xavier Duursma
Available for preliminary final
FPort Adelaide Power
October 15, 2020
Duursma (concussion) will play in Friday's preliminary final versus Richmond, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
There were some concussion concerns with Duursma when he was forced to leave the qualifying final prematurely, but the added week of rest has apparently allotted him enough time to get right. He will remain in an unchanged lineup from the one that dispatched Geelong in the qualifying final.
Mitch Georgiades
Returns in scratch match
FPort Adelaide Power
October 6, 2020
Georgiades (hamstring) took part in a scratch match over the weekend and will be available for the team's preliminary final match next Friday, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Georgiades wasn't quite ready to rejoin the AFL side but pulled up well in a scratch match and should be in the mix. He last took the field Aug. 22 versus Hawthorn and has averaged 1.1 goals, 8.3 disposals, 2.9 marks and two tackles in his seven appearances.
Xavier Duursma
Taken from field after head knock
FPort Adelaide Power
October 1, 2020
Duursma finished with eight disposals (five kicks, three handballs), three marks and one tackle before being taken from the field during Thursday's 58-42 victory over the Cats.
ANALYSIS
Duursma was escorted from the field after suffering a serious head knock as the result of a marking contest gone wrong. He lay motionless on the ground for a period of time following the incident but was able to walk off the ground with some assistance. The Power will have two weeks until their next game, giving Duursma a fighting chance to be fit should it only be a concussion.
Tom Rockliff
Best on ground in victory
MPort Adelaide Power
October 1, 2020
Rockliff ended with 22 disposals (nine kicks, 13 handballs) and nine tackles in Thursday's 58-42 victory over Geelong in the first qualifying final.
ANALYSIS
Rockliff made his presence felt all over the ground, tallying a game-high nine tackles to go with five clearances, four inside-50s and five intercepts. It was an impressive performance by the Power who withstood a number of Geelong comebacks. They will now get the week off before suiting up again, this time with a grand final spot on the line.
Steven Motlop
Sinks former team with classy display
FPort Adelaide Power
October 1, 2020
Motlop amassed 11 disposals (eight kicks, three handballs), three goals, three tackles and one mark in Thursday's 58-42 victory over the Cats.
ANALYSIS
Motlop booted a season-high three goals, helping guide the Power to a 16 point victory in the first qualifying final. Playing against his former team, Motlop made the most of his opportunities and now has his team within one win of a grand final berth.
Zak Butters
Suspension over
FPort Adelaide Power
September 29, 2020
Butters has served his two-match ban for a high bump against the Kangaroos.
ANALYSIS
Butters should be clear to rejoin the action for the Power's first finals match Thursday versus Geelong. He's seen his play trail off down the stretch, but Butters has some upside, reaching 20-plus disposals three times and reaching six marks on three occasions as well. He didn't fare particularly well the last time these two squads went at it, going without a goal and tallying just 12 disposals.
Ryan Burton
Green light for Thursday
DPort Adelaide Power
September 29, 2020
Burton (quad) will be available for Thursday's Qualifying Final versus Geelong, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Burton's home-and-away season ended early due to a quad issue, but the added rest has afforded him enough time to rejoin the action for the Finals. He should slot in on the back end for the Power, where he has averaged 14 disposals and 3.8 marks over six games this season.
Tom Clurey
Clear for Finals
DPort Adelaide Power
September 29, 2020
Clurey (hamstring) has overcome a hamstring issue and will be available for the Qualifying Final versus Geelong on Thursday, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Clurey has proven a significant producer on the back end for Port, averaging 4.6 marks and 10 disposals per contest. His last couple of matches haven't lived up to his prior showings, so there's a chance his fantasy salary will allow for some value.
Darcy Byrne-Jones
Helpful in win
DPort Adelaide Power
September 21, 2020
Byrne-Jones collected 20 disposals (14 kicks, six handballs) and made eight marks during Monday's 61-45 win over Collingwood.
ANALYSIS
Byrne-Jones made his presence felt through his marking, which ended up as an important part of creating space on the scoreline in a tight contest. Since he hasn't been consistent in his marks all season, Byrne-Jones may not be the most reliable option early in the finals, which start against Geelong.
Tom Rockliff
Scores in win
MPort Adelaide Power
September 21, 2020
Rockliff scored one goal and collected 30 disposals (15 kicks, 15 handballs) in addition to making 10 clearances during Monday's 65-41 win over Collingwood.
ANALYSIS
Rockliff helped maintain a control of possession that helped to widen the scoreline late in the match. Heading into the qualifying final against Geelong, Rockliff has deserved plenty of attention with 30 disposals in each of his last two starts.
Dan Houston
Strong in win
MPort Adelaide Power
September 21, 2020
Houston collected 23 disposals (17 kicks, six handballs) and made 12 marks during Monday's 61-45 win over Collingwood.
ANALYSIS
Houston was the key man as Port dominated contested possessions throughout the contest. Apart from this contest, Houston hasn't done anything exceptional. However, some of his best performances have come against Brisbane and now against Collingwood, so he may just be one that steps up when the pressure is highest.
Tom Clurey
Out with hamstring injury
DPort Adelaide Power
Hamstring
September 15, 2020
Clurey will miss the final game of the home and away season due to a hamstring injury, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Clurey's issue isn't believed to be major and he's expected to be back in action for the club's first final. He finishes out the home and away season with 160 disposals, 124 kicks, 74 marks and 15 tackles over 16 games.
Charlie Dixon
Dominates in win
FPort Adelaide Power
September 12, 2020
Dixon kicked two majors and scored three behinds in addition to making six marks and collecting 10 disposals (10 kicks, zero handballs) during Saturday's 79-29 win over Essendon.
ANALYSIS
Dixon was the focal point of the attack throughout the match so it took some time before he had enough space to make his mark. Once that happened, it became difficult to control Dixon, and it helps when he makes one-handed marks deep inside the 50. He's scored eight majors over his past three Rounds and is in fine form heading into the last match before the finals.
Ollie Wines
Plays hard in win
MPort Adelaide Power
September 12, 2020
Wines scored one major to go with 28 disposals (13 kicks, 15 handballs) and made five clearances during Saturday's 79-29 win over Essendon.
ANALYSIS
Wines has been trending in the right direction over the second half of the season and has dipped below 20 disposals in only one of his past six Rounds. He'll next face Collingwood to finish out the season.
Tom Rockliff
Dominates rainy win
MPort Adelaide Power
September 12, 2020
Rockliff scored one goal and one behind while also collecting 31 disposals (20 kicks, 11 handballs), making six tackles and completing seven marks during Saturday's 79-29 win over Essendon.
ANALYSIS
Rockliff was the star of the show as he topped 30 disposals for the second straight Round. With how dominant the Power have been all season, Rockliff has been one of a few players to benefit with a strong fantasy stat line. As a result, he could be worth keeping an eye on going into the final Round of the season and the finals.
Ryan Burton
Out until finals
DPort Adelaide Power
Quadriceps
September 11, 2020
Coach Ken Hinley believes Burton (quad) will be sidelined until the first week of the finals, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With the Power in a pretty good spot atop the standings, Burton's absence shouldn't wind up being a huge blow in any way if he's back for the finals. He's displayed som upside when healthy, posting a season-high 20 disposals and nine marks versus Carlton in mid-June.
Zak Butters
Banned for two matches
FPort Adelaide Power
Suspension
September 11, 2020
Butters has been handed a two-match ban for a high bump during the team's last contest versus the Kangaroos, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Butters performed well in the contest but was clearly a candidate for the ban following a bump on Jy Simpkin. The length of the ban will allow him to be available for the first round of the finals.
Peter Ladhams
Suspension over
RPort Adelaide Power
September 11, 2020
Ladhams has served his suspension and will return to the lineup Saturday versus Essendon, Loukas Founten of the Power's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Ladhams was suspended for three matches for breaking the AFL's COVID-19 protocols but is clear to take his spot among the 22 on Saturday. He's set to appear among the interchanges and will likely give Scott Lycett some relief in the ruck.
Ryan Burton
Leaves with quad issue
DPort Adelaide Power
Quadriceps
September 5, 2020
Burton departed Saturday's contest against North Melbourne due to a quad injury
ANALYSIS
The extent of Burton's injury remains unclear, but it seems likely to be a recurrence of his previous issue that cost him some time. The team will likely take precautions with him down the stretch with the Finals just around the corner.
Tom Jonas
Muted performance in victory
DPort Adelaide Power
September 5, 2020
Jonas ended with just eight disposals (five kicks, three marks), two marks and one tackle in Saturday's 78-42 victory over North Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
The Power cruised to victory on Saturday despite the fact Jonas was unable to make any significant contributions. This is not surprising given the Kangaroos' ability to go inside their forward line is sketchy at best. Jonas is far from a prolific fantasy producer and typically has a far greater impact in reality when compared to fantasy.
Travis Boak
Leads the Power to victory
MPort Adelaide Power
September 5, 2020
Boak amassed 34 disposals (18 kicks, 16 handballs), four marks and one goal in Saturday's 78-42 victory over the Kangaroos.
ANALYSIS
Boak topped both the disposal and the clearances count during Saturday's emphatic victory, continuing what has been a fantastic season for the midfielder. He has been a consistent performer for the Power and currently ranks inside the top-10 in multiple categories. With only a handful of games remaining until the finals, Boak should continue to put up elite fantasy production moving forward as Port push for the 2020 minor premiership.
